Philosophy

In the Padilla-Coreano Lab, we are fully committed to lab members’ scientific training, career goals, and well-being. We promise to celebrate your successes & to grow together during challenging periods.

Science should be open and accessible to all

We’re committed to amplifying the voices of young scientists whose backgrounds have been historically underrepresented in research.

Stories of Women in Neuroscience, co-founded by Dr. Padilla-Coreano, shares dynamic stories of women’s paths to neuroscience research so English and Spanish speaking women in science may see their own paths reflected.

Good science can be done anywhere, by anyone

We’re dedicated to bringing science education resources and exciting neuroscience findings to all those who are interested, regardless of geographical location.

Our vision.

We seek to build a better future, where our field is more representative of the world in which we live.

Dr. Padilla-Coreano and other neuroscientists describe this vision to commemorate SfN’s 50th anniversary in
“The Next 50 Years of Neuroscience.”
